This includes, but is not limited to, those\u00a0relating to:\u00a0\u2022 data protection \u2022 employment \u2022 human rights and\u00a0equality \u2022 registration with other regulatory bodies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.2.3\u00a0<\/strong>You must not post any information or comments about\u00a0patients on social networking or blogging sites. If you use\u00a0professional social media to discuss anonymised cases for the\u00a0purpose of discussing best practice you must be careful that the\u00a0patient or patients cannot be identified.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4.2.6\u00a0<\/strong>If a patient allows you to share information about them, you\u00a0should ensure that anyone you share it with understands that it is\u00a0confidential.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>4.5.2\u00a0<\/strong>If you are sending confidential information, you\u00a0should use a secure method. If you are sending or\u00a0storing confidential information electronically, you\u00a0should ensure that it is encrypted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>9.1.3<\/strong>\u00a0You should not publish anything that could affect patients\u2019\u00a0and the public\u2019s confidence in you, or the dental profession, in\u00a0any public media, unless this is done as part of raising a concern.\u00a0Public media includes social networking sites, blogs and other\u00a0social media. In particular, you must not make personal,\u00a0inaccurate or derogatory comments about patients or colleagues.<\/p>\n<p>Further patient confidentiality guidelines will be published by the\u00a0GDC concerning social media websites, such as\u00a0Facebook and\u00a0Twitter.
