Over the years video has become an integral part of many businesses (small or large) advertising campaign on social media.

 

If you are not already advertising through video, here is a breakdown of some of the key facts you should know before you get started.

 

Facebook:

Where does it appear? News feeds, pages, User profiles, search results, stories, articles & direct messages.

Strengths? Large audience to target, can play on a variety of formats, targeting capabilities.

Weaknesses? Lack of control on where ads appear.

 

Instagram:

Where does it appear? Direct messages, user profiles, explore tab, stories, user feeds.

Strengths? Large and engaging user base, powered by Facebook.

Weaknesses? Videos limited to 60 seconds.

 

Snapchat:

Where does it appear? User stories, discover stories

Strengths? Innovative ad formats, ability to reach a younger audience.

Weaknesses? Narrow audience, Ad tools not as developed as other social media platforms.
